I had the great good luck to work with Dallas at the harvester works. He was always up beat and friendly always had a joke or story to tell us. He will be sorely missed but he is entertaining them all in heaven. May he soul always be laughing. My heart felt condolences to the family.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Dallas at Harvester Works. His common sense approach to duties at The Harv was very effective and made the work easier for everyone. I did travel to dealerships in the fall with Dallas and will always remember these "road trips" as happy times. Dallas' steady stream of jokes and dry wit made the travel a lot of fun. My thoughts and prayers are with the family now. Dallas will be missed by all who knew him. GWSmith

Dear Roxie,
I heard thru the grapevine about Dallas's passing and I'm so sorry. You and Dallas offered the MG Program more than you will ever know. I enjoyed working on projects and taking garden related field trips with both of you. Dallas did indeed make every event seem like Christmas. You are in my thoughts. Claudia

Roxie and family, please accept my deepest condolences. I enjoyed working with Dallas at JDHW and learned so much from him in the short time we worked together. Life got away from me and I lost touch over the years after I moved away, and I very much regret that, especially after learning this news today. One thing Dallas taught me, that I still on occasion remember to do, is to stop and take in a sunrise. He told me to just let the light soak into the corner of your eyes, as it was good for the soul. So was Dallas. I will be sure to stop and take it in even more now, in his honor. Rest easy, buddy.

Marvin and I send our sympathies to all of Dallas's family. We all grew up together with all going to Orion...sister Georgia in his class and of course with a small town and all going to Orion Schools. Dallas worked at Deere with my dad and was in school with bot h of us and our brothers and sisters. We have moved south, but know that he will be dearly miss by all. God Bless Dallas.

Roxie, so sorry for your loss. You are not alone, we all will miss Dallas but believe me, he will NEVER be forgotten. All who knew Dallas will remember his quick wittiness, humorous personality, and love of life. He always greeted you with that big smile and was happy to see you. Being a classmate all through those years in Orion we were like family. Our class stood out as being blessed with four sets of girl/boy twins. Our class will forever remember your generosity of having our class reunion at your beautiful home with all the lovely gardening. Our prayer now is that you Rest In Peace, dear classmate and friend, till we all meet again in heaven!

Roxie, I was sad to hear about Dallas' passing. I will always appreciate what a good friend he was to my dad, Jack Mullen. Dad always loved it when Dallas would give Dad a full golf cart tour of the fair grounds when we'd visit you two and the flower displays before Rock Island County Fair week each year. Though Dad passed in 2011, we both enjoyed visiting Gourd Fest out at your property for several years. Dallas was such a good guy! I had no idea he did stand-up comedy! Dad would've enjoyed that! Heart felt condolences, Chuck Mullen

Our dearest Roxie and family...words, however kind, can’t mend your heartache, but those who care for you share your grief and wish you comfort and peace of mind. Remember Dallas' stories, jokes and kind hugs, and how they made you feel; by doing that, part of Dallas will always remain with you. Jaime and I are here for you during this dark time, and will be here for you when the light begins to shine for you again. Dallas will be missed but always remembered.

The passing of Dallas reached our family with the greatest of sorrow. We are so truly sorry to hear about the loss of one of the greatest men we have ever met. Dallas was more than a friend, he was our mentor and standard barrier of what we as men should strive to be in life. He was the most fantastic of individual who will be greatly missed by everyone who know him. There is and will be for a long time a great emptiness left by Dallas' passing, but we are certain that the strength of the love that you and your family share for each other and for Dallas will get you through this difficult time. May that love honor Dallas' memory and may you cherish the time you had together, as we are certain to as well.

Roxie & Family, I did not know you all, but herd about you from Dallas! I first met Dallas in early 90's as I was doing stand-up I met him in Moline as I was opening for him, we talked and thought he was a super guy! I also worked for Deere and was transferred from P.D.C in Milan to Harvester in East Moline where I met Dallas again, he was on a team to moligate combines for overseas, and he hand picked the team. I was one , after a short talk we figured out where we knew each other from, and the crew was entertained every day with our material, from the past. !! All I can say is , Dallas was a super guy, father grand father, & husband we talked a lot, Dallas helped me when I was going thru some tough times at home, and helped me weather the storm! and I thank him for that ! I am SO sorry for "OUR" Loss! but God works in strange ways, and must have needed a great man in Heaven for his work, he will be missed, but never forgotten! R.I.P. My Friend, and I am sure you will make the Angels Laugh !!! till we meet again ! THANK YOU !

Dallas was such a bright light as soon as we saw him approaching us. The glow left with us after each encounter and made us smile long after. We will miss seeing him at the gourd festivals, his pride and love of that event sure did show. Heartfelt hugs to all his family.

Dallas is one of the special people you meet along the way. We first met in the early nineties and there was no doubt I had just met a genuine caring person. His smile, kindness and sense of humor, along with his gentle manner can never be forgotten. My hearts breaks for his family and the loss you must feel.

Jim and I are saddened to learn of Dallas' passing. We enjoyed learning from him as did our Longfellow students as he taught gardening skills, butterflies, and pollinators with such passion! He and Roxie were the perfect pair to partner with through the years. We knew we could always count on Dallas & Roxie! He will certainly be missed by us all.
