Alan L. Janes

Alan L. Janes, 74, of East Moline, passed away, March 15, 2026, at Park Vista, East Moline.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and inurnment will be near Hastings, Nebraska.

Alan was born in Geneseo to Merrill and Phyllis (Mills) Janes. Alan and his father were serious fishermen. His last 11 years of work were at Hampton Elementary School where he made many friends.

Alan was a kind soul and a hardworking man. He was a talented bowler and darts thrower, regularly competing over the years. Alan lived most of his life at his home on Campbell's Island. He enjoyed looking at them bald headed ones (eagles) in the winter and watching westerns. Alan can now finally get that boat in the water.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
