Albert H. Fitch, 93, formerly of Barstow and Orion, passed away, November 24, 2025, at his home in Florida.

Per the family’s wishes, there are no services to be held. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family or a masonic charity.

Albert was born on July 8, 1932, in McDonough County, IL, the son of Floyd D. and Mildred E. (Richter) Fitch. He married Nancy Suzanne Baker in Avon, IL on August 15, 1952. Albert was a proud US Navy Vet, having served for 21 years. From February of 1953, Albert served in the Navy Reserves until 1956, then was active duty until retiring in July of 1974. In the Navy, he served on 5 different ships and served in Vietnam from 1971 to 1972. Albert did machine repair for Orion Tool & Die, Clifton Precision, and the Rock Island Arsenal until retiring in 1995. Albert enjoyed woodworking in his free time.

He was a life member of the AFAM Lodge #525, Orion. Albert had been a Mason since 1972, in 2 military lodges and a member of Sherman Lodge since November of 1976, where he served as a worshipful master and later secretary for several years. He was also a 33-degree member of Scottish Rite Valley of Moline with a Meritorious Service Award, elected to Knights York Rite Cross of Honor, past Worthy Patron (Order of the Eastern Star), and a former member of KAABA Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Suzanne Fitch; children, Fred Fitch, Kimberly (Doug) Martin, Cindy Hay, Tracey (Todd) Hamilton, Randy Fitch; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Crandall; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George and Earl Fitch; sister, Emma Sinnett; grandson, Jason Boos.
