Alice "Caro" Villagomez

Alice “Caro” Villagomez, of Albuquerque, NM, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at home.

A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 412 10th St, Moline, IL.  A rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Moline, IL. The family request that any donations be made to St. Mary’s Church for masses to be said in Caro’s memory.  Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Caro was born on February 28th in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Enrique and Carmen Ortiz Villagomez.  She was self-employed, a baker, with her specialty being wedding cakes.  Caro was known to be a hard worker, she grew up on a farm and was a ranch hand.  She was a devout catholic and was involved with prayer workshops and prayer groups.  She loved sports and attending the games of her nieces and nephews.  Her family was especially important to her.

Survivors include her sister, Raquel (Andres) Garcia, Mexico, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Enrique, Rafael, Vicente, Aurora, and Ramon.
