Allen Gunnerson

Allen R. Gunnerson, 52, of rural Aledo, IL, died Wednesday, November 04, 2015, in his home after a brave fight against brain cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Andover Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his family for a fund to be established.

Allen was born on September 16, 1963, in Moline, IL, the son of Richard A. and Margaret A. Rollo Gunnerson. He attended Orion High School and loved playing the saxophone in band and jazz band. He went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Communications at St. Ambrose University in 1985.

He married Gloria A. Reeves on December 31, 1994, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA.

Allen was self-employed in the computer industry. He always had a love for 80's and Christian music and enjoyed repairing and building computers. He fulfilled his dream of moving to the country where he could spend time outside on his tractor.

Survivors include his loving wife, Gloria; daughters, Brianna and Erika; father, Richard Gunnerson, Andover, IL; sisters, Janet (Dennis) Gibbs, Benson, IL, and Julie (Rick) Wilson, Erie, IL; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret.
