Amélé Esséyévom Agegee Mombou

Amélé Esséyévom Agegee Mombou, 63, of Moline, passed away at her home on April 11, 2025.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM (CST) or 3:00 PM (GMT) on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. in Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Belvidere Cemetery, 1121 N Main St, Belvidere, IL 61008. The service will be streamed live on Amélé’s obituary page on the funeral home’s website for those unable to attend in person. The link can be found on the day of the service.

Following the burial, a reception will be held just five minutes away at 507 Trumans Ct, Belvidere, Illinois, where family and friends are warmly invited to gather and continue celebrating Amélé’s life.

Amélé was born on May 31, 1961, in Lomé, Togo, to Kouami Agegee and Essévonamé Koutodjo. She married Abalovi Mombou and was a dedicated member of the Central Ewé Moline Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. As a regular pioneer, she spent a significant amount of time sharing the good news of Jehovah’s Kingdom, a ministry she deeply cherished.

Amélé also enjoyed shopping, cooking, traveling, and welcoming others into her home. Her love for music, dancing, and celebrations reflected her joyful spirit and generous heart.

She is survived by her loving husband, Abalovi Mombou; daughters, Dede (Francis) Da Silva and Kokoe (Yawo) Aziati; sons, Sem Folly (Sarah) Mombou and K. Sam (Rachel) Mombou; grandchildren, Leroy, Lola, Shayo, Brianna, Jaaziel, Manuela, Noah, and Sammy; siblings, Sylvain (Colette) Agegee, Sosthenia (Eric) Tchiakpe, Guy (Christine) Gnaglo-Agegee, and Beni (Nadege) Gnaglo-Agegee; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alfred.

Elle a épousé Abalovi Mombou et était membre dévouée de la Congrégation Éwé Centrale de Moline des Témoins de Jéhovah. En tant que pionnière permanente, elle a consacré beaucoup de temps à annoncer la bonne nouvelle du Royaume de Jéhovah, un ministère qu’elle chérissait profondément.

Amélé aimait aussi faire du shopping, cuisiner, voyager et accueillir des gens chez elle. Son amour pour la musique, la danse et aux échanges fraternels reflétait son état d’ esprit joyeux et son cœur généreux.

Elle laisse dans le deuil son époux bien-aimé, Abalovi Mombou ; ses filles, Dede (Francis) Da Silva et Kokoe (Yawo) Aziati ; ses fils, Sem Folly (Sarah) Mombou et K. Sam (Rachel) Mombou ; ses petits-enfants, Leroy, Lola, Shayo, Brianna, Jaaziel, Manuela, Noah et Sammy ; ses frères et sœurs, Sylvain (Colette) Agegee, Sosthenia (Eric) Tchiakpe, Guy (Christine) Gnaglo-Agegee et Beni (Nadege) Gnaglo-Agegee ; ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces.

Elle a été précédée dans la mort par ses parents et son frère, Alfred.
