It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Andrew Thornburg, a man of boundless curiosity, adventure, and intelligence. Andrew was born on September 21, 1990, and transitioned from this life on January 19, 2026. In his 35 years, he touched many lives with his wisdom, humor, and unwavering spirit of perseverance.
Driven by an endless thirst for knowledge, Andrew was a lifelong learner and a devoted (unofficial) teacher. He had a passion for discovery and was steadfast in his pursuit of truth. His smile and laugh were unforgettable. Always humble, grateful, and generous, he found joy in meaningful conversations and traveling, and he found strength through music.
Andrew proudly joined the U.S. Marine Corps after high school, serving for a short time but carrying with him a lasting sense of accomplishment. He was finishing his second year of college, earning a place on the Dean’s List both years, with the goal of becoming a Civil Rights Attorney. These achievements are just a few examples of his ability to overcome challenges with courage and fortitude.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tiah, and his service dog, Tuna, along with many other relatives and friends. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to all who mourn Andrew’s departure.
