Ann (Anna Mae) Rowe, 91, formerly of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center, Rock Island.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the funeral home. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the East Moline Library, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or to a favorite charity.
Annamae "Ann" Heckler was born on November 16, 1922, in Blue Island, IL, the daughter of Howard and Cornelia (Verwer) Heckler. She graduated from Blue Island High School and completed secretarial training at DePaul University. She married Louis E. Rowe on June 1, 1946, in Blue Island, IL, and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2006.
Her primary career was as a homemaker. She managed a Mr. Fresh Dairy Store in East Moline for several years.
She was a Girl Scout leader, president of the Alleman Band Boosters, and a member of the East Moline Library board. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the former Quad Cities Open for many years, and served as an election judge. She was an active volunteer in her children's organizations.
Ann was an avid reader, bridge player, knitter, golfer, and a big University of Illinois and Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all, she enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard; brother, Robert Heckler.
