Arlington "Arlie" McCarl Newberg, III, 70, of Moline, IL, died January 28, 2013, at his home.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 3 to 6:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at a later date at Newton Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to his family for a future memorial at Valley View Country Club.

Arlie was born on October 6, 1942, in Moline, IL, the son of Arlington and Elizabeth L. Keim Newberg, II. He married Sue Carolyn Shunick on July 11, 1964, in Kewanee, IL. Arlie was employed with John Deere Harvester for 38 years working as a welder and retiring as a plasma cutter in October 2003. He loved to golf and was a long time member of Valley View Country Club in Cambridge. He also loved his annual golf trips to Paris Landing, TN, with his golf buddies. In his earlier years Arlie spent time scuba diving, fishing, and ice fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dessie Ann Newberg; and step father, Ed Garvin.
