Audrey Linda (Sorrels) Bean

Audrey Linda Bean, 98 of Moline, formerly of Rock Island, passed away at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline on Saturday, May 7, 2016.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Bethel Assembly of God, 3535 38 Street, Rock Island.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the church.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.

Audrey was born on September 17, 1917 in Elgin, Oklahoma to A.I. and Ida Morris Sorrels.  She married Odis Frank Bean on October 23, 1937 in Lawton, Oklahoma; he preceded her in death on June 9, 2004 after 66 loving years of marriage.

Audrey was employed as a nurse’s aide with the Davenport Lutheran Home retiring at the age of 68.  She was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island since 1953 and was very active in Women’s Ministries.  She volunteered with the Busy Hands Quilting Group at The Coventry in Rock Island and was recognized for over 10,000 hours of volunteer work.  She had a green thumb with plants and flowers.  Audrey was loved by all that knew her and never met a stranger.

9 Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandson, Alan Bean and siblings, Aaron Sorrels Jr., Dale Sorrels, Lee Sorrels, Daryl Sorrels, Gertrude Foust, Idell Sorrels, Mildred Brown and Vina Moffit.
