Avis E. Cathcart

Avis E. Cathcart, 87, of Moline, passed away, May 21, 2025, at her home.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside burial of cremains will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Morristown Cemetery (Osco, IL). Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Orion are assisting the family.

Avis was born on October 31, 1937, in Geneseo, IL, the daughter of Leo and Elsie (Pobanz) Long. She married Leroy W. Cathcart on November 13, 1959, in Moline; he preceded her in death on March 22, 1995. She worked as a teller at Quad City Downs. Avis loved horses and harness racing. She also loved going on day trips with her friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Mara Cathcart; sons, Lance Cathcart and Shawn (Colleen) Cathcart; grandchildren, Tricia (Kelsey) Cathcart, Molly Cathcart, West Cathcart, Haley Cathcart, Charles Cathcart, and Brandon Cathcart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
