Barbara Jean (Hotchkiss) Moore, 87, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away Saturday November 2, 2024, at Solaris Healthcare Bayonet Point, Hudson, Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday November 9, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. The burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Barbara was born on July 7, 1937, in Moline, the daughter of Kenneth A. and Cloma Kathryn (Gant) Hotchkiss. She married Robert F. Stucker in 1956. Barbara later married Wendell “Buzz” Moore in 1963. Barbara was previously employed as a bookkeeper for BarJan. For many years she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rock Island, now known as Two Rivers United Methodist Church. Barbara was also a member of the Rainbow Girls. She loved to read and watch television, especially the Hallmark shows. In later years she loved ballroom dancing. Barbara enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and traveling in Europe. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
She will long be remembered as being a classy, independent woman. She was an integral part of the beginning of our fathers’ companies: “Wendy Specialties Companies and East Moline Wholesale”, later known as BarJan Inc. She was the “Bar” in BarJan company and products.
Survivors include her children, Robert W. (Glenda) Stucker, Kay L. (Howard) Barnes, Kimberly J. Williams, Kathryn M. (Thomas) Harper, grandchildren: Rean Taube, Tiffany (Ryan) Adleman, Robert A. Stucker, Kristina (Sam) Partlow, Richard (Kristen) Partlow, Wendi Partlow, Eric (Amber) Wolfe, Melissa (Eric) Harvey, Jacob (Diana) Harper, Bonnie Harper (Christina); great grandchildren, Kashmere Drummond, Braxtyn Taube, Payton Adleman, Bennett Adleman, Alexis Martin, Alyssia Martin, TJ Plummer, Isabella Plummer, Rylynn Aldous, Matthew Wolfe, Michael Wolfe, Noah Wolfe, Alexa Harvey, Oliver Harvey, Katherine Harper, Elizabeth Harper and Juliana Partlow; great great grandchild, Willow Drummond. She is also survived by her dear friend and sister-in-law, Marlo Wiegel and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Cloma Hotchkiss and husbands, Robert F. Stucker and W.H. “Buzz” Moore.
