Barbara A. Johnson

Barbara A. Johnson, 100, formerly of Rock Island, IL, passed away September 3, 2024, at Tower Hill Healthcare Center in South Elgin, IL.

Graveside services will be held at the Swedona Lutheran Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, and the link can be found at the bottom of the obituary page. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Barbara was born on April 20, 1924, in Mercer County, Illinois, the daughter of C. Edwin and Martha A. (Ackerlind) Johnson. She married Earl M. Johnson, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1999. Barbara was a devoted mother and homemaker. She was a former member of St. James’s Lutheran Church in Rock Island and Trinity Auxiliary. 

Survivors includer her son, Robert (Sherry) Johnson, McHenry, IL; grandchildren, Candace, Heidi, Brandy; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sons, David and James, and sister, Lucille Udehn.
