Beth E. (Kenady) Long

Beth Elaine (Kenady) Long, 96, of Silvis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 8, 2023, surrounded by her family.

A celebration of life will be 9 a.m. Monday November 13, 2023, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Her family will receive guests for visitation from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The burial is at Greenview Memorial Gardens and she will be carried home by her children who have lovingly cared for her for the past ten years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Beth was born on July 23, 1927, in Geneseo, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas R. and Anna L. (Klobes) Kenady. She married Harold T. Long Jr. on January 7, 1947, in Scott County, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2013. Beth retired as manager of Moline Fannie May Chocolate after 30 years. She claimed chocolate was good for you and enjoyed eating it right to the end of her life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially the children. She was an avid Cubs fan and played a serious game of Checkers.

Beth was the beloved mother of nine children, Linda (Stephen) Reeves, Mark (Cindy) Long, Vickie (Jeff) Burgess, Wally (Julie) Long, Mary (Robert) Dopler, Harold (Kristine) Long, Thomas (Karen) Long, Teresa (Mark) Harrington, Craig (Marsha) Long; 23 grandchildren; 30 plus great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Harold.
