Bettie King, 80, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at home.
Per her wishes, there will be no services. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bettie was born on February 20, 1936, in Bath County, KY, the daughter of Morton and Evelyn Spencer Riddle. She was raised by Hubert and Evelyn McCollum. She married Buddy J. King in Indiana in 1954, and he preceded her in death in February of 1986. She retired as a customer service manager for Walmart in 2008.
Bettie loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She was active in the Pekingese Club in Milan, MI. She enjoyed reading mysteries, playing Bingo, and watching Kentucky basketball.
Survivors include her children, Joe (Angie) King, Port Byron, IL, Tim (Joni) King, Berrien Springs, MI, and Kelly (John) Thornsberry, Sandy Hook, KY; grandchildren, Elia (Dena) King, Ryan (Christie) King, Erin (Greg) Maruzzella, Lauren (Anthony) Flores, and Kevin King; siblings, James E. (Sharon) Riddle and Nancy King.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
