Betty A. Blakeney

Betty A. Blakeney, 94, of Moline, passed away Monday June 5, 2023, at her home.

Cremation rites will be accorded and private burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.

Betty was born on September 29, 1928, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Carl and Ellen (Nelson) Arvidson. She married Millard F. Blakeney on April 30, 1955, at the Great Lakes Naval Base. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2015. Betty was previously employed as a telephone operator at First National Bank of Moline. She enjoyed traveling and working on puzzles.

Survivors include her sons, Mark Blakeney, Moline, Kevin Blakeney, East Moline; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lyndsey, Brandy, Evan, Michael; three great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Stephen; five brothers and five sisters.
