Betty L. Hogue

Betty Hogue, 85, of East Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Hammond - Henry Long Term Care, in Geneseo.

Funeral services will be 11am on Friday, March 4, 2022, at First Presbyterian Church, 777 25th Ave, East Moline, IL.  Visitation will be 5pm-7pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Burial will be at Bonaparte Cemetery in Van Buren County, Iowa.  Memorials may be made to the church.

Betty was born on September 21, 1936, in Van Buren County, IA, the daughter of Theodore B. and Louise W. (Schuelka) Housholder. She married Harold Hogue on November 7, 1954, in Bonaparte, IA. Betty was a member of First Presbyterian Church in East Moline for 60 years. She sang in the church choir and was a member of the bell choir. Betty was an accomplished seamstress and taught sewing lessons at the Silver Lining. She worked for 28 years as an office manager for Drs. Litton and Baner in Moline retiring in 2001. She also taught medical office procedures at Black Hawk College and was an usher at the Adler Theater and the Mark. Betty was a member of the Red Hat Society and a member and facilitator of the Divorced Catholics. Betty enjoyed sewing for others and flower gardening.

Survivors include her children, Sue (Steve) Fonteyne, Geneseo, Debbie (Ted) Kutsunis, Moline, Jeff (Andrea) Hogue, Geneseo; grandchildren, Zach (Whitney) Fonteyne, Tony Fonteyne, Joe (Maggie) Kutsunis, Michelle (John) Keady, Hannah Hogue, Kaye Hogue; great grandchildren, Teddy Kutsunis, Penny Kutsunis, Johnny Keady; and sister, Alice Brown, Silvis.

She was preceded in death by parents, brother, Robert Housholder, and sister-in-law, Diana Housholder.
