Betty Lynn Peters, 65, of Orion, IL, died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014, at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1402 10th Street, Orion. There will be a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. and a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or to the American Cancer Society.

Betty was born on September 2, 1948, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Robert J. and Alice B. (Brouse) Gustafson.
She married Thomas Peters on April 6, 1974, in Orion.

Betty began working as a nurse for the former Lutheran Hospital and retired after 41 years from Trinity Moline in 2012. She was a member of Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was active with the RCIA program of the church. She and her husband, Tom, loved wintering in Texas and driving the tractor in parades. Betty enjoyed embroidering, knitting, and tending to her flower garden. She especially enjoyed her dachshunds.
