Betty C. Thompson

Betty C. Thompson, 96 of Sherrard passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 at her residence.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Esterdahl Funeral Home, Orion.   Visitation will be from 5-7 on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the Sherrard Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Sherrard Fire Protection District.

Betty was born on September 17, 1927 in Reynolds, Illinois the daughter of Herman and Annita Strachan Palmer.  She married Richard David Thompson on July 17, 1948 in Sherrard and he preceded her in death in September 7, 1999.

In her younger years Betty attended beauty school and then stayed home to take care of her family.   She was a member of the former Sherrard Presbyterian Church.  Betty loved to play dominos and bingo.  Above all, was her love for children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.

Betty is survived by her children; Thomas (Peggy) Thompson of Preemption, IL, Lorry (Will) Rind of Woodhull, Illinois, Tony (Maryam) Thompson of Coralville, Iowa; Grandchildren; Mathew Willis, Travis Thompson, Jamie Willis, Brice Thompson, Megan Beck, Lacey Billington, Luke Thompson, Kian Thompson, Allen Rind and Troy Rind; great grandchildren; Payton, Amen, Lexi, Grant, Ben, Drew, Piper, Laney, Bentley, Brice Jr., Archer, Gabriel, Samuel, Nikolas and Hollis; great great grandchild; Pace.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brothers Bill and Bob.
