Listen to Obituary

Beverly Leah Hartman, 92, passed away on December 20, 2025, after a life joyfully devoted to serving others.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday January 3, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Beverly was born on August 1, 1933, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Clifford and Marguerite (May) Bolt. She attended Rock Island High School, where she was active in glee club, theater, and several sports. A proud member of the Class of 1951, Beverly later helped organize all of her class reunions.

She married the boy next door, Alan Hartman, on November 15, 1952. Together they lived in several states before settling in East Moline, Illinois, in 1963, where they raised their five children. Alan preceded her in death in March of 1978.

Beverly was a devoted and active member of First Christian Church of East Moline, where she served as an elder, board member, and Sunday school teacher. She helped organize church events, sang in the choir, and faithfully delivered communion to shut-ins—quiet acts of service that reflected her deep faith and compassion.

During her children’s early school years, Beverly served on the East Moline PTA board. She later worked as a temp for Manpower before beginning a long career in the Trust Department at Moline National Bank (later First Midwest National Bank), from which she retired in 1998.

An enthusiastic sportswoman, Beverly enjoyed golf, tennis, and biking, once completing a 40-mile ride to Dubuque. Music was another lifelong passion. She played the piano and ukulele and sang every chance she got—whether performing in musicals with the Quad City Music Guild, singing in church, or entertaining friends and family.

Throughout her adult life, Beverly devoted herself to visiting elderly relatives and friends, offering companionship, comfort, and caregiving. She often brought her ukulele to nursing homes to sing for residents and sometimes invited family members to join her in spreading joy through music and kindness.

At the age of 76, Beverly married Earl Davidson, expanding her family to include four stepchildren and their families.

She delighted in watching her grandchildren grow and was an integral part of their lives as they began families of their own. Beverly was blessed with 14 grandchildren and more than 40 great and great-great-grandchildren.

Beverly’s memory lives on in those she leaves behind: her husband, Earl Davidson; her five children—Mark (Debbie) Hartman of Glen Carbon, IL; Kim (Ramon) Zepeda of Rock Island, IL; Jean (William) Weston of Columbus Junction, IA; Kathy (Larry) Lavin of Cambridge, IL; and Lynne (Michael) Minnie of Colorado Springs, CO; four stepchildren—Dan (Diane) Davidson of LaGrange, GA; Kathy (Mike) Vogel of East Moline, IL; Randy Davidson of Rogersville, TN; and Nancy Debo of East Moline, IL; her sister, Suzanne Huntley of Rock Island, IL; brother-in-law, Raymond Howie of Rock Island, IL; 10 nieces and nephews; three generations of grandchildren; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alan Hartman; her parents, Clifford and Marguerite Bolt; her brother, Cliff Bolt; and her sister, Lucille Howie.
