Bill Attwood, Sr.

William C. “Bill” Attwood, Sr., 66, of Moline, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2019, at UnityPoint Trinity-Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.  Entombment will be at Moline Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to the family or to ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer.

Bill was born on January 5, 1953, in Rock Island, the son of William T. and Alice P. (Rennick) Attwood.  He married Rhonda L. Bartels on July 11, 1975, in Rock Island.  He retired as a highly skilled carpenter and a journeyman with the Carpenter Union 166 in 2010.

Bill was a member of the East End Club and enjoyed hanging out at Sam’s Take Time with his best friend, Sam Loveless and family and friends.  He was an avid Cubs, Bears and Illini fan.  Above all, Bill loved his family unconditionally.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda; children, Heather Attwood, Silvis, Bill (Taylor) Attwood, Jr., Milan, Steve Attwood, Moline, and Kelly Attwood, Geneseo; grandchildren, Alexis, Boe, Dakota, MacKenzie, Colin, Micah, Jordyn, Alex, Carter, and Anthony; sister, Mary (J.C.) Cousins, Milan, and Lennice (Otis) Surratt, Maquoketa, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
