Bill "B.J." A. Johnson, 61, of Orion, IL, died Monday, September 21, 2015, at home.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015, at the funeral home. Per his wishes, cremation rites will follow the services. Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Animal Care & Control.
Bill was born on December 14, 1953, in Moline, IL, the son of LaVerne and Frances Long Johnson. He married Tamey Nelson Johnson on January 24, 2000, in Las Vegas, NV. He worked as a truck driver for Johnson Trucking in Orion and for Tri City Blacktop.
Bill was a member of Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Orion. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan. He was also an avid collector of Budweiser memorabilia and enjoyed watching cart car races.
Bill was a loveable big teddy bear. He was quiet and always willing to help anyone.
Survivors include his loving wife, Tamey; 2 brothers, Gerald (Jennifer) Johnson, Orion, IL, and Steve (Deena) Johnson, Orion, IL; 2 step children, Jeremy (Dawn) Minear, Kansas City, KS, and Lindsey (Doug) Peterson, Davenport, IA; 2 step grandchildren, Maverik and Raine; several nieces and nephews; his beloved dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
