Billy Eugene Kauzlarich, 87, of Orion, IL, died Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1402 - 10th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Kirk, Huggins, & Esterdahl Funeral Home, 1301-4th Street, Orion. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery with military honors provided by the Orion VFW and the Orion American Legion. Memorials may be made to Concerns of Police Survivors.

Billy was born on October 24, 1927 in Melcher, IA, the son of Joseph & Mary Klobnock Kauzlarich.
He married Beverly M Pannell on September 17, 1949 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Colona, IL. She preceded him in death on April 30, 2007.

Billy was a proud graduate of Orion High School. He was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Army. Billy worked at International Harvester and ALCOA. He began his career with the Illinois State Police, District 7, in 1957, retiring in January 1985 as Sergeant. Following his retirement, he served as Interim Chief of Police at Black Hawk College and also was a Court Security Officer for the U.S. Marshal's Office in Rock Island.

Billy was a member of Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Orion. He was active with American Legion Post 255 in Orion and was a Past Commander. He was a member of FOP Lodge #41 and IPA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his sister, Elizabeth Daniels.
