Bobbi Sue Thomsen

Bobbi Sue Thomsen, 65, of Orion, IL, passed away, December 30, 2025, at Allure of Geneseo.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family, for a fund to be established to the Orion School District.

Bobbi was born on April 4, 1960, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Floyd Leon Utsinger and Dixie Rae Strine. She married Richard E. Thomsen at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion on October 21, 1978. Bobbi grew up in Orion, graduated from Orion High School in 1978, and was actively involved with the Orion School District. She had worked as a secretary for the Orion School District for 43 years until retiring on June 30, 2025. Bobbi was a member of the Orion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, baking, going on Jeep rides with her husband, and spending time with her family and friends. Bobbi treasured meeting Charlie Daniel’s band, backstage at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Survivors include her husband, Rick; sons, Brandon Thomsen, and Bryce (Abby) Thomsen; grandchildren, Lily Laws, Lexie Rae Thomsen, Braxton, Maddox, and Kinsley Sue Thomsen; great-granddaughter, Parker Rae Laws; sisters, Terri (Mike) Siegel and Jill (Mark) Osowski; stepmother, Linda Utsinger; brother-in-law, Butch (Linda) Thomsen; sisters-in-law, Loma Cashion and Ronna (Frank) Roessler; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Utsinger; mother, Dixie Krueger; stepfather, William Krueger; father-in-law, Robert Thomsen; mother-in-law, Betty Thomsen.
