Bonnie J. Terrell, 91, of Moline, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 13, 2026.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline. Visitation will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Bonnie was born on September 10, 1934, in Kankakee, Illinois, the daughter of Guy D. and Emma (Pfeifle) Ray. She grew up in Kankakee and attended St. Paul's Elementary, grades 1-8 and graduated from Kankakee High School in 1952, earning an art scholarship. She married William J. Terrell and together they had three children, Penny, Paul, and Todd.
Bonnie was employed in both order processing and the receptionist desk with John Deere Parts Depot in Milan for 18 years, retiring in 1997. She also worked with Miller Container Co. and created advertising layouts for Sears and bought garments for Peterson Harned Von Maur. Her two favorite jobs were as a buyer for Samuels Jewelers and as a beauty consultant in the cosmetic department for Peterson Harned Von Maur. Due to her own unique style, she became their go-to and most requested consultant by customers and fellow employees alike.
Bonnie was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline. She was a member of the choir and communion committee, taught Sunday school, and thoroughly enjoyed welcoming visitors and the congregation before services. She was a master seamstress making clothes for her family and was a wonderful painter. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and gardening. Bonnie was a member of the Sitzmacher Snow Ski Club. Her passion for history and travel led her to several amazing vacations located all over the world. Those adventures gave her inspiration to host many ethnic dinner parties along with creating authentic tablescapes. Before those dinners ended, each guest looked forward to their next invitation.
Bonnie is survived by her children: William “Todd” Terrell, Penny (Paul) Cantwell, and daughter-in-law, Linda Terrell. She also was blessed with her grandchildren, Troy (Christy) Sullivan, Timothy, Tommy, and Travis Terrell, Kelsey Terrell, Maranda Klauer, and Rachel Klauer; great grandchildren, Trent and Kylie Sullivan, and Hayden Terrell.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son, Paul (Penny's twin); twin grandsons, Brent and Brett Cantwell, sister, Phyllis Powell; and brother, Donald Ray.
