Buford Lowell Richardson, 90, of Port Byron, IL, formerly of Moravia, IA, died on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd.,
6601-38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2015, at the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by Moline American Legion Post 246. A graveside service will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Sharon Chapel Cemetery, Centerville, IA. Memorials may be made to Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Buford was born on August 18, 1925, in Centerville, IA, the son of Everett and Marie Sales Richardson.
He married Pauline Mae Guler on December 24, 1949, in Centerville, IA. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2009.
Buford was a Tank Inspector at the Rock Island Arsenal for 33 years, retiring on his birthday, August 18, 1980.
He was a huge fan of NASCAR and an avid reader. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his hounds. He fought and was injured at the Battle of the Bulge.
