Charlene Burney, 86, of Hampton, IL, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Hope Church or to hospice at Trinity Rock Island.
Charlene was born on August 27, 1926 in Childress, TX, the daughter of R.B. and Cordie (Cristoph) Sport. She married Eugene Burney on December 7, 1942 in Lubbock, TX. He preceded her in death in 1978. Charlene worked as a buyer for Kmart in Moline. She was a member of New Hope Church and volunteered there in the kitchen. Charlene enjoyed traveling, card games, and dominos. She was an avid reader.
