Charles "Chuck" W. Alden, Sr., 74, of Colona, IL, died Monday, October 6, 2014, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family.
Chuck was born on November 22, 1939, in Stuart, IA, the son of Russell and Edith Short Alden. He married Jeanne Bealer on June 20, 1959, at Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island. He worked as a laborer for Oscar Meyer, retiring in 1996.
Chuck loved "Treasure Hunting" with his metal detector. He enjoyed fishing for Bluegill and other pan fish in Wisconsin. Chuck was a regular at the Colona Donut Shop, attending every morning.
