Charles Robert Bloome, 90, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Post #246 or to Union Congregational Church. He was a member of both organizations. Charles also served as a contributor to Junior Achievement and the Cub Scout Organization. He loved to fly and was a member of a flying club.
Charles was born on October 2, 1921 in Annawan, IL the son of John and Matilda (DeCrane) Bloome. He married Jane Butzer on August 2, 1943 in Laredo, TX. Charles was a WWII veteran, 1st Lt. Army Air Corp Pilot. For 41 years Charles worked for Deere & Company, primarily at the John Deere Foundry.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur "Chess" Bloome of Davenport, IA and sister, Delores Johnson of Scotsbluff, Nebraska.
