Charles "Chuck" "Grunt" R. Davis, 78, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, January 1, 2015, at Country Manor, Davenport, IA.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no funeral service. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Chuck's name.
Chuck was born on March 28, 1936, in Du Quoin, IL. He served in the United States Army from 1956 until he was discharged in 1962. During his time in the service, he was a cryptographer in Frankfurt, Germany. He became a member of the Moline Fire Department in July of 1966, retiring as Captain in August of 1992.
Chuck enjoyed boating and had a huge interest in Native American Indians.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; stepdaughters, Desiree and Amanda; stepson, Daniel Grace; as well as his daughter, Shelley Hanson; son, Bradley Davis.
