Charles George "Chuck" Moritz

Charles G. "Chuck" Moritz, 82, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the family.

Chuck was born on April 12, 1932, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the son of Joseph Leo and Nina Jacobs Moritz.
He married Dorothy Jackson on January 19, 1952, in Moline, IL. Chuck proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received the Bronze Star Award. He worked as a mechanic for the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring as a contracting officer representative on February 3, 1988, after 28 years of service.

Chuck was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Moline Masonic Lodge 1014 A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of Kaaba Shrine and the V.F.W. He enjoyed small engine repair, reading, watching NASCAR racing, and Chicago Bears football. More than anything Chuck loved spending time with his family.

Granddaughter s Megan (Drew) Ahlgren

Great Grandson Brady Charles Williams

A number of nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Max Moritz, Richard Moritz, and Gary Moritz; sisters, Katherine Wright and Dorothy Moritz.
