Cheryl Schmidt, 67, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1330 13th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family for donations to be made to Cheryl's favorite charities.

Cheryl was born on August 28, 1947, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Arcie and Dorothy Arnold Sapato. Cheryl grew up in Carbon Cliff and graduated from UTHS. She married Gerald Schmidt on July 3, 1969, in Moline.

Cheryl held various positions and was involved in several organizations. She worked at American Air Filter, for Dr. Rubin, Ameritech, and Prime Care. She served as president of various organizations such as Moline Junior Women's Club, American Business Women's Association, PTA, Zal Caldren and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline and was a member of Anna Circle. She also did a lot of volunteer work and enjoyed knitting prayer shawls. Cheryl loved cooking and baking for family gatherings at holidays and celebrations. More than anything, she loved to be with her grandchildren.
