Cindy was born in Rock Island, IL on December 12, 1952, to parents Paul and Marlowe (Techlin) Vyncke. She graduated from Alleman Catholic High School in 1971 and attended Black Hawk College the following fall. In October of 1972, Cindy met the love of her life, William (Bill) McMullen, and they married February 2, 1974. They were looking forward to celebrating 50 years of marriage this coming February.
Family was everything to Cindy. She took her role as a mother and a homemaker very seriously. She spent her days cooking, cleaning, ensuring everyone was taken care of in every way. As her girls grew up and moved out, she spent her days with her husband and best friend, Bill. She loved the simple joys in life of morning coffee, long walks, doing puzzles, dinner out with friends, “Taco Tuesdays”, (which of course could be celebrated any day of the week) and watching the hummingbirds from her sunroom. Her title of “MoMo" was exceptionally important to her: she was very active with her grandkids and a constant source of support in everything they did. Her Christmas Eve party was a favorite in the family; always full of happiness, love, and of course her famous “MoMo dip”. She was giving of her time by delivering meals to the elderly through The Project Now Senior Services. She and Bill loved to travel, and enjoyed spending their winters in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Her love of travel was shared with her family almost every year; another opportunity for her to enjoy quality time with the people she loved the most. She took pride in her family; the love of being together; whether it was spent at home or traveling afar. She was the puzzle piece that held us together and she will be missed so deeply.
Those left to honor Cindy’s legacy are her husband, Bill; three daughters: Michelle (Brice) McCaw, Cambridge, IL; Marci (Aaron) Boswell, Milan, IL; Kelli (Bob) Beverage, Normal, IL; siblings: Carol Hultgren, Rock Island, IL; Alan (Peggy) Vyncke, Peel, AR; Bruce (Becky) Vyncke, East Moline, IL; Rick (Kristi) Peel, AR; Paul Vyncke, East Moline, IL: Brother-in-Law; Pat (Pam) McMullen, Sunlakes, AZ; Grandchildren: Lori Jo Beverage, Normal and Braydan Boswell, Milan. Cindy also had 16 nieces and nephews she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lori Vyncke; grandson, Jordan Schmidt; and brother-in-law, Larry Hultgren.
The family would like to thank the fantastic team of doctors and nurses at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, IA for their loving and gentle care with Cindy and her family.
Memories may be shared on the tribute wall.
