Shaun O'Dell, 61, of Colona, IL, died Wednesday, December 04, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Wildwood Church, 18717 Hubbard Road, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Wildwood Church.
Shaun was born on October 16, 1952, in Chateauxroux, France, the son of Conrad C. and Marvella J. (Tank) O'Dell. He married Rita Robinson on October 27, 1973, in East Moline, IL.
Shaun worked as an inspector for John Deere Part's Distribution Center in Milan, IL, for 34 years. In his earlier years he helped to build Wildwood Church. As a member of the church, Shaun served as an elder, a host ministry director, a Sunday school teacher, an Awana Leader and Upward basketball coach.
Shaun loved basketball, fishing, hunting, gun collecting, arrowhead collecting, and mushroom hunting. He enjoyed vacations to Colorado and the National Parks, reading the Bible, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Shaun's genuine and sincere love for people and his Savior Jesus Christ was shown everyday by how he lived his life.
