Craig A. Meeske, 77, formerly of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at New Perspective Senior Living in Silvis.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Wildwood Church, East Moline. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. The burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Friends and family are invited to eat and share memories at a luncheon after the burial, held at the church. Memorials may be made to Wildwood Church.
Craig was born on April 3, 1947, in Moline, the son of LaVerne and Marlese (Evans) Meeske. He married Cheryl Ann Knott on April 6, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Silvis. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2018. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Craig was a foreman at Case IH and operated the family farm with his dad and sons. He was active at Wildwood Church since it was constructed.
Craig loved being outside, farming, and he especially loved spending time with his grandkids. He also was involved in the community. He served on the Hampton school board and coached many youth athletic teams. He had a great sense of humor and loved making omelets for the family on Sunday mornings.
Survivors include his sons, Todd (Amy) Meeske, East Moline, Chad (Sarah) Meeske, Moline; grandchildren, Alex Meeske (Malik Thalji), Jake (Abbie) Meeske, Megan Meeske, and Haley Meeske; siblings, Linda Knott, and Larry (Lynne) Meeske; and brother-in-law, Criss (Sharon) Knott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl; and brothers-in-law, Greg Knott and Robert Knott.
