Craig Scherschel, 65, of Coal Valley IL, died on January 22, 2016 at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Craig was born on February 23, 1950 in Moline, the son of Arnold E. and Beverly Israelson Scherschel. He married Evelyn Hanson on December 29, 1971 in Galesburg.
Craig graduated from Moline High School in 1968 he went on to work at Eagle Food for 38 years as a non-foods manager and then later with Trinity Transport for 10 years retiring in 2013. He was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island. Craig was very proud of having built his home in Coal Valley and enjoyed sitting in front of his fireplace. Craig was a true people person, he loved helping and loved people.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 45 years.
