Curtis Teichman, 59, of Dixon, IL, died Friday, May 01, 2015, at Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixon, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mabley Center Amusement Fund.
Curtis was born on May 25, 1955, in Moline, IL, the son of William and Barbara (Schell) Teichman. He grew up in Green Rock, IL, and moved to Moline where he attended ARC. From there he was a member of many communities: Red Oak, IA; Brown School in Austin, TX; Galesburg Mental Health Center, IL; and the Dixon Mental Health Center. He most recently resided at the Jack Mabley Developmental Center in Dixon, IL.
Curtis enjoyed things that life had to offer that many tend to overlook. He enjoyed visiting with family, picnics in the park, Fig Newtons, and orange pop. He also loved listening to music. Among his favorites were Burl Ives, Loretta Lynn, and Jim Reeves.
Curtis is survived by his father, William (Sally) Teichman; his brother, Dennis (Linda) Teichman; his sister, Kathy Teichman; and Sally's children, Karen Whitbeck and Lynda Nathenson. He also leaves his nieces and nephews: Amanda (Ron) Stablein, Jessica Teichman, Dwayne Teichman, Melissa (Ryan) Sweeney, Derek Teichman, Victoria Teichman, and Emily Teichman; and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Teichman; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Bernice Schell; and paternal grandparents, Victor and Ruth Teichman.
