D Darlene Dooley

D. Darlene Dooley, 87, of Moline, passed away, Tuesday, November 09, 2021, at Generations at Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be 1-hr prior at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Memorials may be made to family.

Dixie was born on August 6, 1934, in Unionville, the daughter of Hazely Gadberry.  She married George Dooley on September 25, 1952, in Unionville, MO.  He preceded her in death on October 28, 1994.  Dixie worked as a dietician for Americana Nursing Home in Moline.  She enjoyed camping, walks in the woods, puzzles, traveling, cooking, crafting, and spending time with her family.  She was apart of Pheasant Runners Campers Club.  She and George loved wintering in Phoenix.  Dixie volunteered at Old Threshers in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include her children, Orval “Butch” (Brenda) Dooley, NC, Sharon Daughterty, Colona, and Richard (Chris) Dooley, Colona; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; siblings, Glenn Gadberry, Lorane Ford, Betty Angel, Dolley Bates, Jim Gadberry, and Bill Gadberry.

She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, daughter, Rita; siblings, Elizabeth Ann Gadberry and Frankie Lee Gadberry.
