Dale E. Shewell, 89, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Per his wishes there will be no visitation and private burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal.
Dale was born on August 21, 1924, in Galesburg, IL, the son of John and Leona Shewell. He married Dorothy H. Ader in Oshkosh, WI. He proudly served in the United States Navy.
Dale worked as a painter for John Deere Harvester in East Moline, retiring in 1983. He was a former member of U.A.W., the Moline V.F.W. Post #2153, and the Thor Lodge #9 I.O.V. Dale attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing pool and working in the yard.
