Dana A. Rossmiller, 77, of Moline, Illinois, passed away at her home Saturday, February 25, 2023.
Mass of Christian burial will be 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1307 17th Avenue in Moline with a time of fellowship to follow. Private inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Moline.
Dana was born on December 20, 1945, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Robert F. and Helen M. Reis. She was a lifelong resident of the Quad Cities.
A graduate of Rock Island High School, Dana obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Augustana College in 1967 and a Master’s Degree of Science in Education from Western Illinois University in 1985.
From 1967-1975 Dana worked in the personnel department for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District. It was there that she met her husband, Dale R. Rossmiller. She married Dale on January 31, 1970. Dale and Dana had recently celebrated 53 years of marriage. She was a devoted wife and best friend to Dale.
Dana was a people person who truly loved her family and friends. She had an infectious smile and was adept at making others laugh with her sense of humor. She was kind-hearted and thoughtful to those around her—the kind of person who would do whatever it took to help someone in need. She was a long-time parishioner at Sacred Heart Church, Moline, Illinois where she was actively involved in many of the parish’s volunteer programs. She was a faithful supporter of Sacred Heart and Seton School.
Dana is survived by Dale, her son, Anthony, daughter-in-law Christine, and grandchildren John (Jack) and Claire, Roseville, California. She was preceded in death by her parents. She cared deeply for all of them.
