Daniel J. Allison, 60, of Moline, IL, died Monday, January 27, 2014, at Heritage Fifty-Three, Moline, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates. Memorials may be made to ARC of the Quad Cities.

Daniel was born on February 1, 1953, in Denver, CO, the son of Joseph F. and Dorothy W. (Engel) Allison, Jr. He worked in packaging and sorting at ARC Industries. He was a retired member of RAP (Retired and Proud).

Daniel "Captain Dan" enjoyed playing Solitaire and watching Wheel of Fortune. He collected pop tabs for charity and loved the American Flag. Also, Daniel enjoyed the Bobby Bare song, "500 Miles Away From Home". Daniel loved babysitting his nieces & nephews, dancing at weddings, and his dog, Nipper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Darrell J. Allison.
