David T. Power, 76, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of Moline, IL, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at his home in Florida.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery where military honors will be provided by Moline American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be made to Eagle Village in Bradenton, FL.
Dave was born on April 5, 1938, in Moline, IL, the son of Henry T. and Dorothy Dawson Power. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1956. He married Carolyn Allen on December 7, 1957, in Eufaula, AL. Dave worked as a millrite, retiring from Alcoa. He proudly served the United States Army and was stationed in Bamberg, Germany and Fort Benning, Georgia.
In 1962, Dave joined the Moline Fraternal Eagles Aires #1112 which led him to many rewarding years. He was the past president of Moline Fraternal Eagles Aires #1112 and past president of IL State F.O.E. from 1995 - 1996. In 1999, he was inducted into the IL State F.O.E. Hall of Fame. He was honored by Moline Police Dept. D.A.R.E. program for fundraising. Dave received his pilot license in 1966 and was a member of the 4.7 J's Flying Club. He moved to Eagle Village Retirement Community in Bradenton in 1997.
