David P. Young, 79, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, February 23, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
Per his wishes there will be no services and cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
David was born on September 7, 1934, in San Francisco, CA, the son of Chauncey and Lillian (Thomas) Young. He proudly served the United States Navy and played in a ping-pong competition during his service time. David worked for Bishop's in Davenport and later as a janitor for the Corps of Engineers Visitor's Center.
