Deanne M. Zurcher, age 44, of Orion, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Trinity, Rock Island.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 A.M., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Mary, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Orion. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial is at Western Township Cemetery, Orion. In lieu of flowers, it was Deanne's wishes for memorials to be made to her children. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. Orion is assisting the family.
Deanne was born December 11, 1966 in Moline, the daughter of Dewayne and Sylvia VanStechelman Taets. She married Edward A. Zurcher, Jr. on July 26, 1986 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Colona.
Deanne devoted all of her time and energy to her children, family and friends. She especially thrived upon attending all of her children's activities and supporting them in all of their life events. Deanne had a passion for exercise and leading a healthy lifestyle. She enjoyed being a Jazzercise Instructor for many years. Deanne was the 2010 Breast Cancer Survivor of the Year for the Quad Cities. She was also the spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She was a member of Mary Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Orion. Since 2003, Deanne courageously battled cancer without ever offering a complaint. Despite her struggle, she continued to put everyones needs above her own. Her fight and participation in many clinical trials will benefit future cancer patients.
