Debra "Debi" J. Fortin

Debra “Debi” J. Fortin, 73, of Moline, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at River City Church (2305 7th Ave, Moline, IL 61265). Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to River City Church Latino.

Debi was born on May 20, 1953, in Silvis, IL, the daughter of Merle W. and Luanna J. (Wilson) File. She married David A. Fortin in Moline, IL on March 2, 1974. Debi was a pastor of River City Church, and a member of card club. In her earlier years, Debi worked as a cosmetologist. She loved traveling and cruising in her convertible Bug. Debi also cherished moments with her grandkids, decorating her home, and preparing her famous chicken & dumplings.

Survivors include her husband, David; son, Derek (Libbey) Fortin; daughter, Sarah (Uriah) Thieme; grandchildren, Noah, Griffin, Micah, Makennah, Joyce, and Xavier; sister, M. Kris File; brother, Jon File; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
