Delma June Strader

October 11, 1936 — December 23, 2021

Delma June Strader, 85 of Moline passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Per her request there will be no services and cremation has been accorded.

Delma was born on October 11, 1936 in Fenwick, West Virginia, the daughter of Dan and Euva Hanna. She grew up on Fenwick Mountain in rural West Virginia on a farm with eight sisters and three brothers. The lessons she learned from her mother and father were passed down and we are forever grateful. She remained true to her faith and could always bring a smile to those around her with her endearing antics. Delma loved her flowers, her garden and was an outstanding cook. She will forever be known for her homemade rolls, cornbread, and jam. June was also the poet laureate of the family.  She recited some of her creations from memory in her last days.

Delma was united in marriage to Denver Strader on November 18, 1954 in West Virginia. They spent 64 years together. They enjoyed raising their kids and spent many years on the road camping, enjoying the outdoors, and watching Geneseo football.

Those left to cherish her memories include Wayne (Cindy) Strader of Geneseo, IL and Christine (Scott) Sandborg of Moline, IL. Grandchildren: DJ/Janet, Morgan/William, Ky/Jamie, Corey/Cami, Dusty/Alex, Zach, and Kirsten. Great Grandchildren: Jaelyn, Carter, Brennan, Cayne, Mayson, Hunter, Brynlee, Lennox, Kendall and Wills.  Sisters; Pauline, Dortha, and Jean; many nieces and nephews, cousins and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; Dan and Euva Hanna, her husband; Denver Eugene Strader, her son; Dale Eugene Strader, 2 infant sons and sisters; Ada, Veda, Martha, Clara, Vera and brothers; Ted, Rosco and Foster,

Special thanks to Ray and Doris Hill, Chilton and Raquel Lilly, the Bob Reade Family and the numerous friends she met on her incredible journey.

She will also be missed by her cat, Missy, forever.
