Derek James Jackson, 24, of Rock Island, IL, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013, at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Derek's family.
Derek was born on August 1, 1989, in St. Louis, MO, the son of John and Susan (Anderson) Jackson.
He had worked as a tattoo artist for O'Tool Design and was the previous owner of Jackson Tattoo. Derek was currently the co-owner of Inkfathers. He was very artistic and enjoyed tattoos, painting, and drawing. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and picking on his sisters. More than anything, Derek loved the time he shared with his son, Remi.
