Dolores F. Gusman

Dolores F. Gusman, 89, of Bettendorf IA and formally of Kingman AZ, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and inurnment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Dolores was born on July 22, 1933, in Rock Island, the daughter of Howard and Ruby (Davis) McGuirk. She married Frank Gusman in 1971, and he preceded her in death in April 17, 2012.

Dolores was a registered electrologist for over fifty years.  She was owner/operator of Gusman’s Electrolysis in Rock Island IL, Davenport IA and Kingman, AZ. Dolores was a board member of two professional organizations; the American Electrolysis Association (AEA) and International Guild of Professional Electrologists’ (IGPE).

Frank and Dolores were members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline IL prior to moving to Kingman AZ. Dolores attended Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Kingman, AZ. She also served for many years with the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML).

Dolores also volunteered at Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) for over 7 years in the Gift Shop. Dolores also enjoyed her small coffee group when attending Silver Sneakers in Kingman AZ. Dolores was so loved by her family, her family was so important to her and she showed that till the very end, always thinking of everyone else before herself. She loved to be around all her grandchildren from all generations.

Survivors include her children, Carol (David) Payne, Bettendorf, Roy (Debra) Kerns, Jr., Davenport, Mary Handley, Bettendorf, Dale (Kathleen) Gusman, Palm Springs, CA; 7 grandchildren, Jerry Caldwell, Jr., Colorado Springs, Shelly (Kenneth) Bushnell, Bettendorf, Dave Beal, Davenport, Jennifer (Gregg) Erickson, East Moline, Shayla (Brad) McMullen, East Moline, Nicholas Handley, East Moline, Robert W. Kerns, Davenport; 24 great grandchildren, 16 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Dorothy Davis, William, and James McGuirk; grandson, Michael Handley.
