Donald LeRoy Norberg

Donald LeRoy Norberg, 87, of Andover, Illinois, passed away May 2, 2025, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Andover Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Don was born on March 19, 1938, in Nekoma, Illinois, the son of Roy C. and Irene L. (Payne) Norberg. He married Dorothy A. Engstrom at the Augustana Lutheran Church in Andover.

Don graduated from Alwood High School in 1956. He worked as an electrical board tester for 30 years for Montgomery Elevator/Kone. He was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church; where he served on the board, was an usher, and janitor. Don was also an Andover board trustee and helped initiate starting Andover Water. He bowled with the Cambridge and Orion mixed leagues. Don had a love for Chevrolets, the Chicago Cubs, everything garage related and never said "No" to a good piece of pie and cup of coffee. Above all, Don loved his family and cherished his time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchild.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; children, Diane (Wally) Ladewig, Dave (Tammy) Norberg; grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Matykiewicz, Ashley (Seth) Carlson, Amanda (Zach) Nelson, Nicholas (Korie) Norberg, Brooke (Alek) Lemke, Lisa (Tom) Ladewig; great-grandchildren, Willow and Autumn; great-great-grandchild, Iliana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Merrill, sister Jean, and granddaughter Kim.
