Donald C. Richmiller, 79, of Moline, died on July 8, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 412 10th Street, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Donald was born on June 5, 1934, in Moline, IL, the son of Carl F. and Helen L. (Cobert) Richmiller. He married Elsa L. Samuelson on January 22, 1955, in Palmyra, MO.

Donald was a Captain for the City of Moline Fire Department, retiring in 1989 after 31 years of service. He was also a painter, a carpenter, and wholesale electronic distributor.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church as well as the church choir. Donald was an avid piano player playing everything by ear. He was a charter member of Grass Roots Cribbage Club and a Past President of the Iowa Square and Round Dance Federation. Donald loved playing all sports and was a gold medal senior Olympian in tennis - a sport he truly loved. He was a coast-to-coast traveler who loved watching movies - especially westerns. He was an avid poker player who loved hunting, fishing, camping, boating, and water skiing. Donald especially enjoyed gardening and planting fruit trees. Above all, he loved family reunions and Thursday lunches with his cousins.
